Custom Graphics

Email or fax your draft diagrams or charts to us, we’ll transform them into presentable graphic slides to include into your presentation. We’ve not yet come unstuck with any of the hieroglyphic scribbles that we receive by scan or fax!

Custom Templates

We’ll work with you to set up a corporate template to maintain brand consistency for all your presentations.

Background Images

Background images can be set up as part of the template but sometimes you may want individual slides to stand out. We offer full digital image manipulation services to create unique image backgrounds.

Animations

Although we recommend limiting the use of gimmicky text animations as they can be very distracting and often very irritating to the audience, subtle animations are sometimes essential for text slides and can play a big part in diagram slides e.g. building up a process or timeline chart for easier audience understanding.

Interactive Presentations / Relational Presentations

For a less linear approach to presenting, hyperlinked presentations offer a far more interactive experience allowing presenters to skip unnecessary slides or jump to any slide in the presentation with a single click. These presentations require careful planning and preparation but can be used over and over, adapting them to various audiences by hiding irrelevant or revealing relevant slides. To learn more about this style of presentation you can view a demonstration of the ultimate application at http://www.aspirecommunications.com/RelationalPresentation1.html - which also has a demonstration video to illustrate its effectiveness.

Imagery/Photography

PowerPoint presentations are essentially to be used as visual aids to a speaker, digital imagery and photography is an integral part of building a presentation’s visual effectiveness. We avoid using clip art as it looks unprofessional in most cases, we will source alternative and more appealing imagery from various online stock image libraries (costs vary) or from our own small photographic library. We can enhance, retouch and manipulate any sourced or supplied digital imagery.

Image & File Optimisation

We can optimise your supplied digital images/scans for presentation or web purposes, solving any large file size issues you may be experiencing. All digital imagery we source and use in any of the above services will be optimised for presentation use, however the quality will still be suitable for printed handouts.

Handout Document Design

It is common practice to print out presentation slides as a hardcopy handout/leave behind, we strongly advise against doing this. It is a lazy route and in practice ineffective. If the slides contain enough information to function as a comprehensive reading document, it means your presentation slides are not working effectively as visual aids but rather as a projected transcript of what you’re standing up to say. If your slides are functioning as they should as a visual aid they will not be suitable as a reading document.

We provide a handout document design service to produce an easy-to-read document that supports your presentation by outlining your presentation in full, including visuals and additional information that you may not have had time to cover in your live presentation. Handout documents will be emailed in Word or PowerPoint and PDF formats to the client. We are also happy to handle the printing and binding and supply hardcopies by registered mail.

Digitising Handwritten Documents

Perhaps it’s our uncanny knack at deciphering hieroglyphic-like handwritten scrawls or our unending patience and desire to deliver that makes us the first port of call for many of our clients digitising requests. We are often asked to transcribe reams of handwritten notes into a Word or PowerPoint document and we’ve recently worked through the night to transfer the intricate scribbles from 40+ training workshop flip chart sheets onto PowerPoint slides for the morning recap session. If you have any similar requests please feel free to contact us.

Proof Reading

We do routinely sense check and proof read all content as we work through a presentation, although the thoroughness of this process depends on the urgency of the project, as our focus is design and creating visual effectiveness. However we are affiliated to Brown Fox, a proof reading service highly recommended for their meticulous attention to detail and superior knowledge of language and grammar usage. Please call to enquire about the availability of this service.

It’s not just about looking good - it’s about being visually effective.

PowerPoint slides should be a visual aid to a speaker, not transcripts.

A visual aid should complement the verbal presentation not distract from it.

Visuals should be clear, concise, cohesive and consistent.

Saying too much can be just as dangerous as too little.

55% of the information an audience receives during a presentation is VISUAL.

38% Vocal
ONLY 7% Text

Message retention after 3 days:

10% text bullets
50% Visual Slides

Chances of achieving your objectives:

33% Bullets
67% Visuals

Professionally polished presentations can effectively communicate high impact messages.

Visual stimulus will always override what is being said.

Use pictures where you can.

Keep the word count down.

Ideally stick to 1 idea/concept per slide.

Avoid cramming slides, split them over multiple slides - your audience won’t know what is a new slide and what is a single slide animation.

Most people cannot comprehend more than 10 concepts in one meeting.

Good design conveys clear thinking.

Poor visuals convey unprofessionalism.

When presenting figures, tell the story behind the figures - the underlying story will give them context - easier audience understanding.

Volume does not equal Value!
Keep your slides simple and to a minimum.

Relevance is more important than volume.
